Nurture in Nature

Day Retreat

A day of nourishment for mind, body and soul. In the garden, in nature and in good company.

To slow down, notice the body's intelligence and reconnect with your heart.

Hosted by me, Kate Adey, in collaboration with my dear friend, Katie Edwards.

Date: Friday 2nd October

Time: 10am - 4pm

Venue: The Old Rectory, Alford, Somerset

"This day is for you if you long to slow down, feel joyfully replenished and truly met in the company of other women."

What to expect

01

Connection &

Community

In a small circle of women, to share, learn and feel held, heard and seen. A day of real connection, away from the noise and in good company.

02

Spaciousness &

calm

Step out of stress and into space to breathe. Discover simple ways to meet life more calmly, so you can carry that steadiness home.

03

Joy &

replenishment

Come back to joy and leave feeling replenished, lighter and more yourself. Have practices to handle whatever life brings with more ease.

The shape of the day

A day held gently, from arrival to coming home.

Rather than a strict timetable, we move through the day in gentle stages, with room to breathe and flow between them.

Tea, the garden, each other. No rush at all. Time to arrive properly and let the day begin gently.

A simple, grounding practice to help you arrive fully, come into the present moment, and drop out of your busy head and back into your body. You'll leave with an easy way to steady yourself and come back to the present, whenever life feels like too much.

We share a warm cup of ceremonial cacao, a natural, heart-opening drink made from the cacao bean, to help you slow down, set an intention, and reconnect with yourself. A simple ritual you can take home and return to whenever you need a moment of calm.

A gentle practice to release the stress and tightness we hold in the body, softening, unwinding and letting go. You'll take away a simple way to soften stress in your own body, so you can let it go rather than carry it.

Locally sourced food offered as nourishment for body and soul. We bring a little mindfulness to how we eat, slowing down to truly enjoy a beautiful meal together in good company. A way of eating you can carry into everyday life.

A joyful experience combining movement, sound and a little lightness, to lift your energy and leave you feeling alive.

A closing together, to gather all the day has given you to carry into everyday life.

Come as you are. Nothing to prepare, nothing to bring. Everything is provided, and every practice can be done gently, at your own pace. You'll go home with simple, doable practices to feel calmer, lighter and more yourself, and more able to meet whatever life brings.

Meet your hosts

Kate Adey

Leadership & Women’s Transition Coach, Author and Speaker

Kate works with women navigating moments of transition, bringing together research, coaching and lived experience.

She came to this work through her own path: motherhood, a career that no longer fit, a loss that asked her to slow down, and menopause, each one asking her to stop pushing through and come home to herself. Over time she saw these as doorways into the same understanding. It’s the heart of her book, The Other Way.

She creates calm, thoughtful spaces where real conversations can happen. Spaces where you can be met as you are, and supported to move forward in a way that feels grounded and true.

Kate lives in Somerset with her husband, three sons, two Labradors, and a love of wild swimming, running, food grown close to home and cooking.

I have been blown away by Kate's knowledge and ability to journey with me and guide me. I have left each session with insight, knowledge and practical things I can and do take into my everyday life.

I left feeling refreshed, inspired and exhilarated. I also connected with so many incredible like-minded women.

Katie Edwards

Katie creates soulful spaces for women to heal their relationship with their body, release stress and negative thinking and remember their wisdom within.

Her approach offers a bridge between the physical and the sacred, blending modern science with earth-centred spiritual traditions. Her work is dedicated to reweaving the connection with nature and the cyclic intelligence of the body to create self-trust, peace and inner freedom.

I feel so connected to myself. You showed me what is possible. To have the opportunity to be in a safe space where you can wholly be yourself with no judgement is rare. And to receive the quality guidance in so many areas of mind and body wellbeing was just wonderful. I am truly grateful.

This is an absolute gift. Thank you, it really is a beautiful place that you have taken me to within myself. The overall feeling is that I can trust myself, you have reminded me I have wisdom (which felt long lost) and I can rely on that.
